CAT'S Q&A

Do you have questions that you would love to ask Cat Royal? Allow Cat to put her 18th Century perspectives on your modern dilemmas.

My dear friends,

Good news - the Duchess of Avon has now answered your questions.  Her replies are now posted.

Dr Golding has told me that some of my messages to her which she used to record my sea-going adventures are now available on something called Twitter.  You have to look for Catherine Royal but then can follow my story there.  It gives a behind-the-scenes look at what went on - not everything made it in to my memoirs.

I have also just received this shocking news from Mr Egmont, my bookseller:

Dear loyal readers,

We had hoped to publish Cat Royal’s latest adventure in August of this year, but instead we have had to delay publication after a terrible occurrence.

The precious manuscript was snatched from our offices late one evening, possibly by that unscrupulous publisher, Mr Tweadle, or one of Billy Shepherd’s henchmen, we do not know. Happily one of our editors was working late and spotted the thief .... Pursuing the villain, he saw him cast the script into the Thames, and with the help of a local fisherman was able to rescue it in time to save it ....

But sadly for all Cat’s readers, much of her tale had to be retyped through water damage and we will not be able to have it ready for publication for this August. We hope to have it ready for the press ten months later than expected.

Yours regretfully, Mr Egmont

I am very frustrated by the delay, which once again is out of my hands.  I have decided instead to release on these pages a small adventure - a novella in fact - for my faithful readers to read for free.  I will start the installments in August to reward you for your patience.  It will start at the point I left you in the Caribbean.

Meanwhile, please do carry on asking for my advice.

Cat Royal

Hey Cat! Sorry I keep on typing(or should I say 'writing') to you. I can't help it I have so many questions for you! But today I will ask you three questions for you: 1. Do you believe in ghost?(I do!) 2. Have you seen a ghost before? 3. Have you seen something so strange that you can't come up with an explanation?-Celine

I'm not very superstitious but have an open mind on ghosts. Some people told me Drury Lane was haunted but I never saw one. Most strange things I've seen they say natural philosophy will explain, such as rainbows. But I prefer not to know the explanation, but enjoy the beauty. Cat

Miss Catherine Royal, if you were ever to date a guy, would you like it if he was a chivalric type? If not, what would you find in a guy? ~ Lady Janiey Ran

If I had to put a date on him, I would imagine a chivalric type would be from the Medieval period. Cat

Dear Tami, My next book is imminent - a novella soon to be released on this very noticeboard dedicated to me. My favourite colour is green and I am of no fixed abode at present having spent much of the last few years travelling on my own grand tour. Cat

Hey Cat! What is your guilty pleasure?

Excellent question. I try not to feel guilty about things I enjoy, but I must admit sneaking in to someone's stageside box at the theatre without permission is one of my weaknesses. Cat

Well never mind!! Do you have any good Kitten names?? My cat just had her kittens, they are ADORABLE!!! Well, I guess I'll talk to you later! :)

Dear Cat, You know what I realized? If I'm from the future and you are from the past how do we send messages to each other? A time machine?

Don't be silly - that doesn't exist except in stories! Your letters come by carrier's cart. Cat

Hey Cat! I have a question about Pedro as all of these other questions seem to be about romantic interests with Billy and/ or Syd, it would be very tiring for me to have to answer the same question 20 times! Anyways, do you view Pedro as a best friend or a brother? Best wishes for future advetures, Amalia <3

Best friend in the main. Cat

Hey Cat. I love all your books, I never get bored of reading them again, and again, and again. You're a brilliant writer and can't wait for the next installment of your adventures. please could you answer this question: do you think you could ever lead a normal life? I certainly hope not, as then there wouldn't be any more books of yours to read (a fate worse than death for me)! Thanks. =)

What is a normal life? Mine is what it is - normal for me. Cat
