Connie is the world’s last Universal – the only person who can communicate with all creatures; the only person who can keep peace between humans and the hidden mythical beings being destroyed by pollution.

But the shapeshifter Kullervo craves her power. He wants to wipe out humanity.

During a long, hot summer, as the sun beats down and the earth gets dryer, Kullervo prepares for war. The serpent-like chimera is just one part of his frightening army. As the inferno of Kullervo’s hatred crackles into life, Connie and her best friend Col must stop him. But how? And who will survive this fight to the death?

I loved reading this series, and would love there to be a fifth book - which would defeat the whole object of it being a quartet, but whatever, I would love to read another. <3

I love your books. They are so awesome. What got you into writing books about Connie? Are you going to write a 5th book? If you do write a fith book, what will it be about? Which is your favoirte out of all of the companions qardert series? My favorite is the Chimera's Curse. When you were writing these books, did you already plan to make just one? How did you come up with the characters? Are any of them simular to people you know? Did you base Connie on a certain perpose? Your books are great, thanks for writing them!

Hi Some answers are on the FAQ page. The idea for a series came after writing the first draft of Sirens - the idea of elements was already emerging. Characters are themselves though they may have fragments of people I recall in them. Connie is not based on anyone, though I feel in some ways she is quite like me. Julia

Hi I really love you books and I wished that you would write more books because I am a fast reader and it takes me about 3-5 hours to finish a 300 paged book, and after the ending of the series I still want more!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! SPOILER ALERT!!! IF YOU HAVENT READ THE CHIMERAS CURSE DO NOT READ THIS!!!!! I think if you do write another book you should talk about George (as the might be universal) and Hoo the weather giant like taking Kullervo place and Connie realizing that Kullervo might of been right because of he's now in her. Also, you should put Agrand in more cause shes on of my favs along with Jade, and the Minataur, and Gard. Also it would be cool if you made some romance with Jade and Gard. These are all suggestions but I really really really really hope you will consider them.:):):):):):):):) (p.s. dont forget Rat, Icefen, Col, and Liam/ Li-am chuckle chuckle chuckle) P.P.S dont forget hoos companion mr.C. I want to know what might happen to him!!!!

I have written one - just waiting for publisher to decide to go ahead with it. J

Ms. Golding- Thanks for writing these books! I have just finished the Chimera's Curse like two minutes ago. All were pretty good. I enjoyed them immensely. I think I like them so much because I can totally relate to Connie, in many, many ways. You have crafted great characters, an impressive story line, and memorable scenes that will penetrate my dreams for a long time. My favorite thing about the series a whole is the fact that they all are unpredictable. I am an avid reader and have read a lot of juvenile and young adult books, none of which kept me as attentive as when I was reading about Connie, Col, and the Society (except maybe the Hunger Games books). I think that Mines of the Minotaur was my favorite. I am happy to say I will always enjoy your writing.

Thank you!

Hi,I absotively posolutely love your books. Once I started the Companion's Quartet I just couldn't put them down and I finished the whole series in a week. I've always been fascinated by mythology and you put it in a modern, adveturous, mysterious version with so many different surprises. I hope you keep writing because I can't wait to read more of your books!! -Kajal :)

Hey, love your books! and got my friend hooked on them too! Right now shes borrowing my copy of the Chimera Curse. She absolutlely loves it! Also I have a written a novel, it's 368 pages long. Do you have any advice for getting it published? Thanks.

Best place to start is the Writer and Artists Yearbook - if your story is for children there is even a special children's version - look in your library. Full of really good advice. Julia

Damn, I just literally love your books. Literally. I have a question though, I went on the website "www.companionsclub.co.uk" because it said on my book of Secret of the Sirens that we could get like, newsletters and stuff, but it doesn't say anything like "sign up here" or anything. I did get to asses myself so I could see what companion species I am (see next to name), but nothing else worked. So I was wondering if it like, only works in England 'cause I live in Switzerland but I am english. Anyway, thank you so much for writing those books, they mean so much to me in my own weird way.

HI The Companions Club ran for about three years but the publishers stopped sending out the packs then and just left up the companions test as a bit of fun. The problem is of course that books printed a while ago still bear the reference to the club - sorry about that! Julia
