The Gorgon's Gaze

I have only read Secret of the Sirens but already I am very enthusiastic about the rest of the books. As I was reading the book, I felt as though the words were plain simple but the story was facinating! Not to mention that I felt as though there was some chemistry between Col and Connie. All the characters are very interesting and fits in the story very well. I am looking forward to reading the other books with such impatience.

Hi! I just finished reading "The Gorgons Gaze" and wanted to tell you it's brilliant! :) It's the only book out of the Quartet that I've read so far but I can soon sort that out! Keep up the good work!

I loved it! I myself am a writer you know. I don't enter contests and stuff but I write for fun and have my own fans-my family and friends. They enjoy reading the storied I write and all my teachers enjoy them too. I have one hack of a sense of humor so my stories are the ones to read when you need a good laugh. Anyhow, gorgan's gaze was the best book I've read in my life. I can't wait until the third one comes out. And I'd like to thank my mother who gave me extreme clumsiness and if I hadn;'t trppied over the air at the exact moment at Chapter's and knocked down that exact book, I wouldn't have discovered the great adventures of Col and Connie!

I'm an adult fan of your books (the Cat Royal ones as well as the Companions Quartet) and I'm intrigued and fascinated by your use of "Kullervo" for the evil shape-shifting universal, given Kullervo is a well-known figure from Finnish myth... I'd love to know why you chose the name for Connie's nemesis. Hi Michele I knew about the Finnish myth and felt it fitted to destructive nature of my creature. I felt that perhaps he had once entered Finnish ancient history in this form, lurking on the edge. Also the sound of the name is great - and as its from the north - the first place global warming is really being seen - it all fitted together. Julia

Amazing Book! I really liked the plot and I hope the next one will be out sometime soon. I'm thinking about writing my own mythical creatures story. Any hints? Ringwarriorkayla author on Fanfiction.net and Fictionpress.com. Hi Ringwarriorkaylalunaris! Did you start with Gorgon because Secret of the Sirens comes first. The next one, Mines of the Minotaur will be out in March 2007. Hints for writing about mythical creatures? Well, they are available for each generation to reinterpret in their own way. The trick is to do something original and relevant to your own world view. Think what interests you and then ask how they could be involved in that. For me it was the environment, of course, but other big themes could work too. Julia

It was amazing!! I hate reading, but not even I, the top slacker in the school could stop reading. The guys at school were stunned to see me reading at recess instead of playing sports with them. So far I've only read Secret of the Sirens, but I've been searching for the second book and finally found it. I also think there is love in the future for Col and Connie, but It's kinda obvious I'm wrong.

Hi Amber, Glad you liked the reading. If you want tips where to start, you could try reading some of my blog entries and 'Contact the author' as this is where I put my thoughts on this subject. Happy to answer any specific questions, but a good place to start is a nice notebook, a pen you like writing with and a couple of free hours... Julia
