Hey, Is "Den of thieves" out in the U.S.? I can't find it anywhere! I am nearly finished with the second book and I am eager to read the third but there is nowhere to get it. ~Reagan (It should be out very soon. Roaring Brook publish the books so their site might have more details, or your local bookseller. Julia)

I think that you should involve J-F in one of the next books becasue it would be nice if Cat and him met up again. Just an idea though. Katie X

I really liked this book because it was the first time that Cat had been abroad! I also really liked the fact that there was J-F. I really liked it when they had to do the dance at the Opera. Can i ask tho was it a fast dance or a slow one because i don't know if they did fast dances in the 18th century? Katie X (The ballet is a real one - you can hear the music yourself so you can imagine how fast they would have danced. In the ballroom, country dances would have been quite fast too. Julia)

The insults in this book are so funny, haha! I used the last insult that Cat used to save herself (you all know which one i'm talking about!) against a bully, and she hasn't touched me since! Thank you so much for writing these books!

Dear Julia, You are most definitely my favourite author. Just one question - how do you get your book flowing? I've got a plot and characters and a setting, (et cetera, et cetera) yet I am stuck with a way to open it that'll get the reader gripped. S.O.S!! : ) Hi Chuck, Mmm openings are key. You might actually find you write the story then go back and make it better, but if you're writing a fast paced tale, make sure it grabs you. Have a look at my various openings (by no means perfect). I always think of a reader in a bookshop browsing - you need to make them want to read on by tempting them further. Give enough but not too much info. Julia

For some reason this book reminds me of Les Miserables (the musical). Must be the French Revolution. Out of curiosity, where did you get the inspiration? (I love Les Mis - I saw it first in 1986 when it was still at the Barbican - way before it was famous. Not an inspiration though that I was aware of - I did a lot of research and went to Paris. J)

I got this in the post this morning and finished it about half an hour ago - a fantastic story with some very interesting and likable new characters. Loved the ending too - ooo the tension between those two! I got the next two books as well and I'm so tempted to read them now instead of saving them for my holiday... Maybe I could read them now as well as on holiday...
