Cat o’Nine Tails

His Majesty's Ship Courageous this present day calls all able bodied volunteers who desire great honour by serving the Royal Navy. Loyalty, courage and gallantry will be met with the warmest encouragement from Commander of the King's ship, Captain Barton. Early applications for the voyage are welcomed as Courageous will sail with immediate despatch. God Save the King.
Presenting the fourth volume from our famous feisty heroine Cat Royal... In which Cat becomes an unlikely recruit for the British Navy, takes passage to America and navigates her way through a fiendish plot to do away with Lord Francis, heir to a dukedom. From the grand Assembly Rooms of Bath to the wilds of a new frontier, Cat finds she is for once quite out of her depth. All aboard, Cat's going abroad.

Your books are amazing, and I'm sure they would make the most amazing movie series! Cat is the most adventurous and intelegent heroine in any book series I've ever read! If Cat ever does find herself a "boyfriend" I hope it's Syd! Thank you for writing such an amazing series. "Break a Leg" on your next book!

Hi, Mrs Golding! I love the Cat Royal series! Ever since Den of thieves and Cat O' Nine Tails I've loved the idea of Cat & Frank together. I know you won't say who'll she'll end up with but do you think she will be romantically linked with anybody at the end of the series...or sooner..? (That depends on where her life takes her. I haven't lived it yet imaginatively as I like to keep my options open. Julia)

Cat Should so stay single. Everyone's talking like she has to be paired off with someone. I mean I can't picture cat staying at home doing housework. Definitely not Cat

dear Ms. Golding I love the cat books(the ones i read, which is the first three). I am a fast reader. It took me less than a day to read each book. sadly my library dosent have the rest of the series. I tried to find them at a my local book store but they didnt have them, so i will just have to wait to read them but so far i love them. (HI, You could ask your library to borrow them for you - usually there will be an inter-branch loan system. There is also a shop here on the site where you can buy them if that suits your personal circumstance). Julia

Dear Miss Golding. Do you prefer Cat and Syd ( I do!) or Cat and Frank? I think Cat and Syd are good because he loves her, and I'm sure she loves him too! :)He's saved her A LOT, and he has kissed her. He always protects and what does Frank do? Be a good friend. I think Frank and Cat should be friends and not together. What do you think, Ms Golding? (I will never say as all is still in flux in Cat's life. J)

hi julia, i absaloutly love... all of your cat royal books (well the ones i've read anyway) i still go to primary school and we have this thing called 'accelerated reader', which is we get a level, read a book thats on the level then you go onto the computer and do a quiz on it and you get a mark out of 10 or 5. i've read The Diamond Of Drury Lane, Cat Amoung The Pigeons and Cat O'Nine Tails. and i absaloutly loved them all, this year of schools nearly finished and i wont have time to read Black Heart Of Jamica (and we dont have Den Of Thieves, RATS!)because i am an extremely slow reader!! but i'll soon get to it and i think it'll be just like the others, AWESOME!:):) thank you so much for writing the Cat Royal series. i appreciate it soooo much!!!!!!

Is there anywhere you know of where I can read Cat O' Nine Tails online for free? (Even an excerpt would be good) (I hope you can't because that would put me out of business! Try your local library instead. Julia)

I just finished reading this book. It was incredible! I really liked how real you made Cat's emotions feel...even the bravest can get scared sometimes, I guess! I liked how you made Maclean so despicable that you can't help but hate him. I really enjoyed the book! Great job! So...when's that next book coming out in the U.S.? :) (Thanks Nicole. No more Cat just yet but have you tried Dragonfly? That's just out in the US. Julia)
