Dragonfly is like my #1 fave book in the entire world Julia you are one of the most talented authors on the planet, so silly old J.K. Rowling had better make room! PLEASE post when you find out what day The Glass Swallow will be released. I hope Gordock comes back!!!

I AM TRULY YOUR NO.1 FAN I HAVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOUR BOOKS (UNFORTUANTLY NOT WOLFCRY YET BUT IM GETTING THAT SOON AS I CAN FIND IT) WERE YOU GOOD AT LITERACY AND READING WHEN YOU WERE YOUNGER ? IM TERRIBLE BUT WANT TO BECOME A GOOD AUTHOR HAVE YOU GOT ANY TIPS? (We didn't do literacy quite like they do now, but I was good at English because I enjoyed it so much. Still doesn't stop you being an author though, as that is about being able to tell a good tale. Sally Gardner, for example, struggled with dyslexia and didn't think she could write a coherent sentence, let alone a book and look at her! Julia)

Bought your book "Dragonfly" at the Hay Festival Bookshop (mainly because the girl on the cover looks a bit like me) and instantly loved it! Can't wait to read more of your books. Sometimes I really feel like I have to wear the emotionless mask of Tashi's world, even if I long to be as free and "uncouth" as Prince Ramil. I really think this book would make a great movie - the sooner the better! (hopefully before I'm too old to play Tashi lol) I hope your event at this festival isn't sold out because I really want to go now :D I'll see you there if I can! - A new fan, Siobhan

hi, its me again! im stuck on my book...do you think its possible to have a desert island in between dover and calais in france? there doesnt need to be a real one, it could be unknown...but do you think its possible? it had better be, because thats the main part of my book... (No desert islands but there are the Channel Islands and there are some small ones like Sark that you might look up. Julia)

will the new characters in swallow be ramil and tashi's children, or other people? (You will see... J)

darshana wrote on 03 May 2009:

hi julia! this book inspired me to write my own! if my book ever gets published (and i hope it will!) should i put my real name on the cover or a pen name? I really want to put my real name on there, but i dont want loads of people following me and stuff, so what do you think i should do? thanks! darshana xxx (I wouldn't worry too much - writers are pretty obscure. I use a pen name if you are interested in knowing what I do. Julia)
